I feel air slowly start to fill my lungs. At first it hurts but I slowly ease into it. My body starts to tingle as my blood warms. I feel a weight lift off my body. I'm scared but not as scared as I will be if I don't open my eyes. My eyes flutter open and it's as if I'm seeing the world for the first time. It's bright, warm and colorful. I inhale deeply and feel the darkness melt away. I look up and take in the warmth that now surrounds me. I have been reborn.
