Today's prompt really had me thinking. I actually didn't complete this writing prompt for a couple of days after reading it.
The prompt said: If you could send a message to any deceased person, what would you say and to whom?
I first thought about sending a letter to my Nanny (grandmother) but then after some thought I chose not to. I feel like she is okay and at peace wherever she is and I don't want to disturb that. Then I started thinking about other interesting people I would want to talk to and came up with Jack The Ripper and The Black Dahlia. I wondered what it would be like to get into the mind of a killer like Jack or a victim like The Black Dahlia. Granted I had just finished up TNT's The Alienist and that has put my brain into murder-mystery mode. Alas, I finally came to the conclusion that I would send a letter to my greatest inspiration, Edgar Allan Poe.
I would send a letter to Edgar Allan Poe and first ask him how he died. His mysterious death has always intrigued me. I would then ask him about his stories and poems and ask what or who inspired him. I would also ask him where he is now and have him describe it for me. And finally I would ask if he is at peace or if he feels he still has some unfinished business.
Who would you send a letter to?
