365 Q&A #14: Into the Woods

I'm beginning to notice a lot of the writing prompts I resonate with fall on Saturdays. Here's another one for ya:
Picture yourself on a path in the woods. Now something appears. Describe it all.
The area around me has a grayish/blue-green tint to it. It's cold enough to see my breath but not cold enough to need a winter jacket. A strange sensation. The stars and the half moon are the only source of light. I hear a WHOOSH behind me. As I spin around leaves dance. I turn back and I am face to face with a silhouette; the outline of a man. It has no face or eyes. No distinguishing features; he is the mere shadow of a man. I am not frightened by him. I realize he has been walking down the path with me for quite some time. Watching the way I move as to understand me. I now study him. As I reach out to touch him and he vanishes in a puff of black smoke. I wait a while to see if he will return but when he doesn't I continue on my way. As I walk I sense him behind me again. We continue to walk, man and shadow down the path.
What or who do you meet in the woods?
